Remember World War II . . . ?

With Veteran's Day 1978 almost upon us, we thought it appropriate to take a little trip down nostalgia lane. The above picture was taken February 28, 1942 outside of the old St. Paul Armory when these 13 men were off to World War II, just 83 days after Pearl Harbor. The mayor of St. Paul and the late Major Same Ransome of the Minnesota Home Guard were there along with many of the families of the draftees. Some of these men are deceased or no longer live in this area. In the front row, left to right are: Reginald Harris, Jesse Dodd, Alexander Jordan, Henry Johnson, Marvin Lewis and ................ Standing, left to right: Fred Fullbright, Mr. Cunningham (first name unknown), Al Harper, John (Doc) Askew, Walter Blaney, Readus Fletcher and Roger Johnson.
